I bought liquidmoonsports.com about 7 months ago. I put in place a new commerce engine (oscommerce) and added a few new lines of products. Additionally, I began the efforts of the getting the site optimized for the search engines. Those efforts are working and well under way.

I started optimizing for two major terms, outdoor gear and outdoor clothing. These are some very large terms with big players, stores like REI and Patagonia are near the top. Anyways, I've been stedily ranking higher and higher on google, today I ranked #17 for the term "outdoor gear" out of 38 million search results and #26 for the term "outdoor clothing" out of 13 million search results.

Traffic is not huge , but it's growing fast. I get about 300 unique visitors per day. I plan on adding some more lines and doing some additional search engine work to get those numbers to 500 a day or more.

Since most of the products are drop shipped, I will continue to fulfill all orders when they are placed.

I am asking $50,000 for the domain and the site. How do I justify the price?

1) The domain is aged and very old and the search engines love it. Do your research, to rank high for terms with 38 million search results these days would take hundreds of man hours and at least two years of search engine maturation.

2) While I am selling products, it's not my focus. I make about $500 a month selling the few products I have on the site. Although I think this next ski season should be much higher.

3) I am selling opportunity. A firm with thousands of products and a knowledgeable web team could launch a new site with products in a manner of a week or two. As long as it's search engine friendly, the site will rank well for all major terms.

I am selling this site for $50,000 now. However, once I break the top 10 for my major terms and once visitor increase to close to 1000 per day, the price will go up significantly.
