Your First Camping Trip
So you’re more of a http://www.direct.tv/direct-tv/North Carolina/ kind of person than a hiking-outside-all-weekend person well, camping is the solution! It’s a great way to get more familiar with the outdoors (particularly if you live in North Carolina) and you only need a few crucial items to get you started
Camping Lantern – You won’t realize how crucial this is until you DON’T have one. A good lantern helps illuminate your campsite and keep predators away and it also leads the way to the bathroom.
Ventilated Tent – Don’t buy a ten that’s not ventilated – you’ll sweat to death. Remember that if you’re not used to camping a “four person tent” is actually probably 2-people, comfortably sized, and that they’re a pain to put together so start early in the afternoon.
Toilet Paper – Unless you’re staying at a camp site with bathrooms (and really, where’s the fun in that?) make sure you’ve got some TP and other creature comforts to ease your transition into the wild! Whether it’s your first time or your thousandth you really, really don’t want to run out of toilet paper.
